IN LA GRACIOSA
NOVEMBER 13TH – NOVEMBER 19TH
The only thing Mónika Frías loves more than a good story is being the one to tell it. A videographer, photographer and graphic designer, Mónika has been sharing visual tales for more than 10 years. Drawing from live music, classic photography, Architecture and fashion, her style is timeless, emotional and elegant with an editorial flair. Mónika thrives on the creative freedom of photography and art direction, and she understands the importance of her role. Whether shooting for a couple or a brand, “I know that my way of telling the story is how it will be remembered, and I try to make the experience appear in frames the way it felt in person. It’s beautiful when a couple or client comes to me and says, ‘It’s better than we even imagined.’”
We’re trying to discover ways in creating wedding photographs that become more valuable with time, yet say enough about the present. Our aim is to understand the couple, and present them and their wedding though unique style, personal connections and candid emotions.
Growing up I never dreamed I would be a photographer. I got my B.A. in English and Creative Writing and always thought I would go to law school and write on the side. Everything changed when I met my husband, who actually bought me my first camera after back-to-back trips to Iceland and South Africa.
I was battling some major depression at the time, and in a lot of ways, I think photography saved me. It gave me an outlet to create meaningful art and make real connections with people at a time when I felt a lot of loneliness and lack of motivation to do anything.
Since then I’ve been obsessed—it’s what I feel I was born to do. I live in Utah, but I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world doing what I love.
We are Susan and Martin and even after 10 years of being and creating together, we feel like our love for photography and the things we get to capture in our work, is only growing.
And yet, compared to all the amazing friendships and experiences we get through it, the images almost seem as a memorable byproduct.
We look for poetics that life creates on its own, and are inspired by stories of the people who kindly let us in.
If at least some of it can be captured on film, we know it will have a personal feel as we really enjoy getting up from the computer and going to make some photos with our hands.
I’m passionate about capturing people who believe in the value of meaningful, authentic and never-dying photographs.
Anna is a wedding & editorial photographer based out of Barcelona. Her style is a mixture of editorial + documentary, focused on the authentic moments captured in an artful and timeless way. Since the beginning of her career, she has shot stories in 15+ countries around the globe and her work has been internationally published.
Hey there! I am Don (Philippines) and together with my best friend Helen (Mexico) we photograph love stories from around the world, but most of the times we prefer to travel and work 5 minutes from home. We have a baby girl, her name is Emily and ever since we got pregnant we changed our goals and learned a lot of lessons in life. Specially with life and work balance, mental and emotional health, creating a meaningful and valuable work, accepting a limited number of gigs each year, learning “how not to sell”, and the list goes on.
I’m Daniel Alonso. I live in a small city in northern Spain. My big passion in life is family and cinema. Not in that necessary order. In 2006 I founded People as an audiovisual company dedicated to advertising and event videos. In 2010, Gloria Cavia (who years later would be my wife) joined me and in 2012 we focused exclusively on wedding photography. In 2016 we were named one of the 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography by Rangefinder Magazine. We’re totally focused on storytelling using slideshows to improve the client’s experience.
